The latest stage of the ongoing redevelopment of 10 Fitzgerald Avenue is now complete with Eight Ounce Café officially open!
The old Springwood Post Office’s transformation from abandoned, forgotten building into a buzzing destination for eats, culture and commerce took a huge leap forward recently with Eight Ounce Café officially opening on 13th July.
Boasting quality Ona coffee, Niko Neko Matcha, Mörk Chocolate and other Japanese-inspired food and desserts, Eight Ounce Café has quickly become the it destination in Springwood for fine Asian dining and high-quality coffee.
A labour of love more than 12 months in the making for owners Tammy & Toby, their goal of bring fine Japanese style cuisine to Springwood has made a big splash in the local area, attracting customers from all over the southside of Brisbane for a dining experience that is like nothing else available in the area.
North Queensland Cowboys and Queensland Maroons legend Johnathan Thurston even stopped by recently, showing that news has travelled quickly and people of all walks of life are noticing what is happening in Springwood.
In conjunction with Logan City Council’s recent upgrade to the Fitzgerald Avenue streetscape and House Property Agents ongoing redevelopment of the old Post Office building into the destination known as Fitzgerald Lane, the transformation of the site into a cultural and commercial hub in its own right is now well underway.
What’s next? Tenders are being invited for a companion restaurant for Eight Ounce Café which will potentially offer woodfire pizza and a high-class wine bar, giving Springwood’s central business district a much needed boost for the night-time economy by creating a dedicated after-hours destination which will incorporate food, arts and entertainment.
